lyrics

Looking back all the time
Line after line and I don't mean the kind that you think
Living your life in excess is the best - and I'm impressed
I've been high since June apart from one week
We did shots of tequila on the beach
Swallow your pride, I died when I dived
Line after line it's alright and I feel alive

They say that Rome wasn't built in a day
Don't believe a word that they say
('Cause they've never been to Rome in the first place...)

You said this would be easy - it's never been that way
And I can't be the only one who needs this escape
I thought this would be easy - I've never been so wrong
I'm struggling to find a reason why I don't belong

(I decide what's right for me and my eternal state of mind)
(I'll decide in time - I'll be the only one to get this right)

Wake and bake with the brainwaves shaking
All the shit I've taken - take me home!
But I don't really wanna go
Pack up one more bowl and let me chill with my bros
Although, what happened to your clothes?
I was looking for some blow but I didn't mean that though
But don't move don't go, I always want more
Join me on the floor if you can handle four
Where's my conscience and where's my soul?
(Fucked if I know! Just let the drink flow!)
My only goal is to lose control
As I'm looking back at all the time you stole
These aching lungs are just made of coal
I like fucking when I'm stoned
There is nothing that can fill this hole
No sex, no drugs, no rock and no roll

They say that Rome wasn't built in a day
Don't believe

You said this would be easy - it's never been that way
And I can't be the only one who needs this escape
I thought this would be easy - I've never been so wrong
I'm struggling to find a reason why I don't belong

(I decide what's right for me and my eternal state of mind)
(I'll decide in time - I'll be the only one to get this right)

I once knew a girl with hair of gold who promised me that we'd grow old together but we never and I once had a friend who was clever but he went blind. I knew another girl who sold her soul and such selfish acts will just make you cold. I had another friends who betrayed us all and I don't know if I still care. I once knew a guy who was always there and now he's not but fair is fair and I knew another girl who was insecure but I can't be sure if she found a cure. I've got an ex best friend who'll drink himself to death and it's for best right? Because looking back to five years ago won't help you live your life.

I control my fate and I know where it is
(You can't save me, let's be honest)
(We both know I don't want this)

Together as one it didn't seem so bleak
There was noise in my house and a party each week
Ending up crashing out with nobody asleep
There was reason to write and speak
There was a park by the sea, there were rocks on the beach
There was smoke in our lungs and the world at our feet
And we drank and we fucked 'till we ran out of luck
And now nothing I can do will ever let me travel back in time

I CONTROL MY FATE AND I KNOW WHERE IT IS
